Just think—all you need is your inspiration. I do the rest.

That's what it takes to
ghostwrite or edit a great book.

Let a world-class writing consultant

lift your inspiration to a grace and

clarity you won't easily find

anywhere else.

Looking for a professional to weave your ideas into a novel, memoir, business text or just a personal statement about the world? I am ready to write you a masterpiece.

As a professional ghostwriter and editor, I offer one of the highest standards in the industry, over 20 years' experience, and ironclad confidentiality.

FINDING THE RIGHT EDITORIAL SUPPORT
There are two main reasons why people from every walk of life ask me to write for them. They're either too busy or don't trust their own writing abilities. But they are so fired up with inspiration that they refuse to give up. More than anything they want others to see through their eyes, feel what they feel.

If you have a voice, I will find it!

My clients are housewives and business leaders, nurses and bomb victims, politicians and ex-cons, retired colonels and special-forces guys. They are mistreated, remorseful, hopeful, faithful, or incurably romantic. I've had the privilege to work with all of them.

A few of them claim there's something oddly therapeutic about the writing process. Tell me about it! I write for a living. But most of my clients say that getting someone to ghost their story is the next best thing to taking a pen (or laptop) and writing the story themselves. I hope to make this a firsthand experience for you.

A ghostwriter is not just a faceless writer-for-hire. He or she is your writer.

Unfortunately, many ghostwriting services are content to create generic books just to make a buck, while claiming to produce best sellers. But generic books can only give a generic picture of life—not the wants, fears, hopes and dreams that inhabit you, the author...and that the readers need to waken their curiosity and passion. Such books rarely see the light of day. Those that do, may indeed become best sellers—but only despite the writer!

At some point you need to make a choice: either cut corners with a fly-by-night service with the lowest bid, or plan for success. I will design a ghostwriting or editing project that exactly fits your budget and, at the same time, paves your path to publication. Only a dyed-in-wool professional can pull that off.

A great writer has to be able to bring your story to life, whether that "story" is a fiction or a nonfiction. This requires solid talent—the ability to use your store of knowledge, memories and experiences to produce a unique narrative that's worth telling.

When all is said and done, your readers should be able to comment: "I learned something from this book," "This author has something to say," "That was entertaining!" or simply, "Not exactly my mind-space, but I still loved it!"

Don't belittle yourself. You have more hidden inside you than you think. My goal is to help you find exactly the right words and voice in which to express it. I'll even help you find a literary agent. I'm not one myself, so I'll never charge you for this service. I offer it strictly as a courtesy, my final contribution to your success.

Here is what some clients have said about Anthony F. Shaker, PhD:

Anthony has been key to developing my writing career. He has been,
and continues to be, a mentor, a trusted intellectual mind that holds
thoughts and words with care and insight. Yet he sees, not merely the
written text, but the soul and spirit that is behind every passage that
emerges from a writers deepest parts. His editing and critiquing talent
has been the catalyst to make my thoughts sing and dance on a page.
His attention to detail, his vast vocabulary, his eye for the tiniest elements
of structure, character, even grammar and punctuation leave no stone
unturned in his quest to deliver perfection to a client. He makes me look good!
I have been working with Dr Shaker for about two years and will continue
to work with him, if he will, on many projects to come.

- Nenosi Mae, fulltime writer, cultural journalist, novelist, artist,
                            photographer.
The Colours of Barashasha (literary philosophical fiction).

I have just completed the process of publishing my first manuscript, and
I must say that you have helped me find the most eloquent and highest expression
for my thoughts. I want to acknowledge your tremendous contribution to my
personal success and that of my book project. I look forward to using you as
my resource to support all of my writing needs. You are a true master at what you
         do.

Dr. Shaker, I have read the manuscript and I am so darn impressed with what you
have done I can't find words to express it. You are definitely a master at what you
do. I hope you will allow me to include you in my acknowledgments, because I
want those who read the book to know about you...You certainly deserve that if
       you would allow me.

                           (study in management principles).

My mother said she would like to meet you one day…I have to agree that you
did an incredible job getting in sync with my memories and emotions. I am so glad
that I decided to work with you! I hope we will continue to work together on future
       projects.

- Margot Hyland, American woman from South African and mother
of young US marine serving in Afghanistan.
                           Across the Color Line (memoirs).

mihyland@yahoo.com

I have just finished reading the manuscript. This is phenomenally good! You have
said basically what I wanted to say in an extremely eloquent way that I wasn't even
close to accomplishing. I can't believe it, but this is one of the best nonfiction
reads I have come across in a while.

- Phil Sanderson, California software developer.
An Essay on America's System of Justice

(study of our system of justice)

Before Anthony became involved in my project I was never going to complete my,
         book,
Two Rivers of Gold
. Frustrated I turned to him for help and in a short time,
with his guidance, the project was completed. He was candid, helpful, understand-
ing and professional. Recently I started another novel and will no doubt seek his
help at some point. In between projects he has always been available to answer
questions and assisted me in the search for an agent.

Law Enforcement Liaison for Eastern Illinois University.

When I was searching for an editor , I decided to go for Anthony Shaker because
my uncommon maiden name was the same -- Shaker. The fact that he had
earned a PhD which requires hard work and dedication only solidified
my choice. However, the only real reason I stayed with Anthony was because
of his skill as an editor. He helped this life-time writer to polish her narratives into
ready-to-publish, very readable material. What's more, he kept faith in me when
my confidence level hit rock bottom, as it's bound to do with every author, and
helped me find a good literary agent. He stuck with me until my manuscript was
accepted. And Shakespeare asked  "What's in a Name?" In my case, it helped me
         choose the perfect editor.

- Adla M. Hannon-Shaker, retired nurse, teacher, WWII veteran.
Go Softly Into the Night (crime novel).

I can't tell you how much you have helped me with my writing. I want to thank you
for the great job you did editing my manuscript. Your work, according to an agent
in D.C., was exceptional. Thank you again. If I had known about your work before
         my book
Footprints Of The Garden Snake
was published, it would have saved me
a lot of time. Oh by the way, you may purchase a copy on line at Amazon.com.

                          - Vivian Allison, retired, full-time writer.

AFS Wordstead is pledged to maintaining the highest industry standards. I realize how much your project means to you—whether you have a great ghostwriting idea or are in need of a seasoned editor.

FICTION & NONFICTION

While I can't guarantee publication, I will give you a fighting chance. A well streamlined text may mean the difference between having your foot in the publisher’s door and a great opportunity lost. My job is to allow your future publisher to foresee success in your manuscript—enough to give it a fair reading.

It makes no difference if you plan to self-publish or find a publisher. I will continue to work with you beyond the terms and conditions of our writing agreement until your book is printed.

BUSINESS WRITING

Unless you have an effective business voice that conveys decisiveness and authority, few people will buy into your ideas. It's just the nature of today's competitive marketplace.

I offer clarity of voice in every business communication I'm asked to create. I have the experience with large- and small-cap businesses to make sure every written text I write delivers your message smoothly and efficiently. And I'll help you do it with eloquence—you know, just in case some nosy literary critic happens to be eavesdropping!
